Surround yourself with vibrant carols, breathtaking masterpieces, and stirring cradle songs to soothe the senses with the return of our popular Christmas concert. Four settings of the ancient carol, “O magnum mysterium”—by Morten Lauridsen, Tomás Luis de Victoria, John Harbison and Cesar Alejandro Carillo — recreate the
crèche scene and the arrival of the divine amidst the animals. Traditional and contemporary Christmas music—including Benjamin Britten’s
Jesu, As Thou Art Our Savour, Claudio Monteverdi’s
Magnificat, and unique arrangements by musica intima members—round out the programme.
