mi after hours: Hiraeth

October 29, 8:00pm | Heritage Hall | 3102 Main Street, Vancouver

Hiraeth, an untranslatable Welsh word, is the concept of a deep longing for a place, or a time— one that can never be returned to.

Soundscapes and soundworlds inspired by nature created by composers such as Joanna Ward, Ramona Luengen, Sherryl Sewepagaham, Gabriela Lena Frank and Andrew Balfour will offer comfort to a community coming out of two years of isolation.

A novel approach to choral concerts, after hours will take place in less formal venues, offer more casual seating, have shorter sets, and provide the chance to meet with the ensemble or even local composers! You’ll hear the same music, but hopefully experience it in a new way as you get up-close in a more intimate evening with mi.
