For more than three decades, musica intima has championed Canadian choral premieres, taking artistic risks and giving new compositions their first voice. Many composers whose works we premiered in the past have since become established voices in Canadian music. Our audiences have been part of that journey, discovering tomorrow's repertoire with us, sometimes long before the rest of the world hears it.

Established in 2014, NOVUM continues this tradition. Following a national call for submissions, five composers were selected for NOVUM 2026. Through readings, individual consultations with Dr. Ramona Luengen, and a masterclass with internationally renowned composer and conductor Ko Matsushita, they worked closely with musica intima's twelve singers to develop and refine five original compositions.

Be there at the beginning of something uniquely Canadian. Join musica intima in celebrating the composers, ideas, and creative possibilities shaping tomorrow's Canadian choral culture.

YOUR SUPPORT IS OUR LIFEBLOOD

musica intima exists to create incredible moments—to share the power of music with our audiences and invite them into our circle of sound. Your financial support of the ensemble’s professional performance, touring, recording, and community outreach initiatives remains invaluable.

As with most not-for-profit arts organizations, ticket revenue only accounts for a small portion of our total budget. If you have been touched by musica intima’s performances, please consider a tax-deductible gift to the musica intima society. Your continued support of one of Canada’s musical gems is vital, allowing us to continue presenting world-class performances at home and abroad, and supporting generations of professional musicians.

Thank you!
