Vocal ensemble musica intima joins forces with renowned Vancouver singer and director Dawn Pemberton for her compelling new curation, Sankofa. Based on the Akan concept "go back and get it," this performance explores the rich musical evolution of the African Diaspora in Canada. Through a powerful blend of choral music and storytelling, Pemberton and the ensemble honour the wisdom of community elders while celebrating themes of resilience, faith, and joy.
