Britten: A Ceremony of Carols

A perennial favourite of treble choirs around the world, Britten’s version for mixed choir is far less familiar. The arrangement sometimes simply doubles, sometimes splits the music across the upper and lower voices, and sometimes Britten completely re-writes passages to suit the voices. Filmed during COVID-19, this version represents the joys and challenges of creating art during a global pandemic - but if you look closely you’ll see twelve singers who are incredibly thankful to be making music together, despite the masks and distance!
