Nobles: Coriolis

Recorded August 2020 at St Philip's Anglican Church

An early musica intima commission from BC composer Jordan Nobles, this evocative work is a textless exploration of the "Coriolis Effect". The musical phrases are passed from singer to singer in sequential order with the pace gradually increasing throughout the piece, until it reaches stratospheric heights and then winds back down in the opposite direction. The piece was conceived to be performed in a circle surrounding the audience, and we tried to create this experience when recording this piece for the virtual 2020 Busan Choral Festival, who commissioned this performance.
