Willan: Rise Up, My Love, My Fair One

Dean of Canadian Choral music Healy Willan (1880-1968) is remembered for his tremendous output; especially of a cappella sacred music, including many settings of passages from the Song of Songs. Willan’s gently hovering harmonies pair beautifully with the romantic poetic imagery - and his lack of regular meter creates a floating affect throughout the music.
